About Andy Ross LCPC

My approach to professional counseling and growth is holistic and strengths based. I draw on a variety of approaches including EMDR, mindfulness, family systems, psychodynamic, and stress reduction techniques. I am skilled at helping people identify how their past is affecting the present and healing these memories which often results in new levels of peace and calmness.

I prefer a strengths based, resilience minded, skills building, collaborative approach to the work of emotional growth and healing.

My training as a pastoral counselor has also equipped me to work with people who want to address spiritual concerns and questions and my particular specialty is helping those who want to integrate Christian spirituality into their counseling work. I have significant cross cultural experience from growing up in Kenya and living for a time in Costa Rica. I am proficient in Spanish and I relate naturally and warmly to people of any culture or background. I enjoy athletics including soccer, and being outside, especially roaming in the wilderness far from the concrete and noise of the city.

I have experience working with people struggling with depression, addictions, anxiety, career concerns, relational challenges, and more. My primary focus is adult individuals. I also offer workshops on a range of topics related to our emotional, relational, and spiritual health.

In my clients I regularly see movement toward more abundant, authentic, and joy-filled lives. Areas of self-criticism often move in the direction of curiosity and self compassion. Relationships are clarified and self defeating patterns of thought and action often become more life giving. I find satisfaction in helping clients discover their own ability to take care of themselves, make wise decisions, heal themselves, and build up those around them.
